Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to find out about our proposals for the land at The Temple, Balcurvie. This land is allocated for housing development in the current Fife Local Development Plan.

Campion Homes Limited are negotiating with the current landowner to acquire this site from them and wish to bring it forward for a development of new family homes in early 2023.

To achieve that, a planning permission is required to be sought and, given the site is greater than 2ha and we hope to develop more than 50 homes, formal pre-application consultation is required to be undertaken.

A first online consultation event was held on 3rd March 2022. A summary of the comments made and a response to each of those points can be found here.

A second event will be held on 30th March 2022. This will take place at the Greig Institute, Milton Road, Windygates between 1400 and 1930 hours.

The Planning Context

This site is allocated in FIFEPlan as site WDY002.

A previous proposal for the site was the subject of a pre-application engagement exercise in 2019 but those proposals have not been able to be progressed.

Campion Homes’ Approach

Following on from some initial site analysis and assessment, a proposed layout has now been prepared.

The starting point for our approach has been:

  • Using the existing vehicular access point at Cameron Crescent.
  • Connecting into pedestrian access points on the Core Path to the east of the site.
  • Building up to 80 family homes ranging from 3 bed terrace / semi-detached homes to 5 bed detached homes.
  • Delivering lower density (bungalow) developments on appropriate parts of the site.
  • Delivering a required proportion of affordable (social rent) homes as part of the overall house type mix.
