Where to find the best pancakes in Fife

The most exciting day of the year is just around the corner… Pancake Day! As well as developing beautifully designed homes, at Campion Homes we know a thing or two about pancakes.

If you want to discover the best places in Fife to sample delicious pancakes, take a look at this list of our favourite spots…

Cupcake Coffee Box, Kirkcaldy

This cosy café will satisfy any sweet tooth! Cupcake Coffee Box can be found in the centre of Kirkcaldy, full of plush tartan armchairs and a staggering selection of cakes. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and chatty.

But pancakes are what we are here to talk about, and here you can choose to have these fluffy beauties with a generous serving of fruit and ice cream, or American-style with plenty of bacon and maple syrup.

Northpoint Café, St. Andrews

This is probably the most famous café on our list, with the claim to fame, ‘Where Kate met Wills… For coffee!’

This café has always been frequented by locals and students – including Prince William and Kate Middleton - thanks to its excellent range of breakfast food. This includes, most importantly, a great stack of fluffy American pancakes which will leave you full and very happy.

The Pantry & Kitchen at the Hideaway, Dunfermline

For the more sophisticated pancake aficionados amongst us, a trip to this award-winning restaurant is in order. You will love trips here on cold days in February, as the wood-burning stove and fantastic atmosphere will keep you cosy.

The Pantry & Kitchen’s menu is filled with local produce and their pancakes are a thing of joy, whether you eat them at breakfast or enjoy them as a dessert. Go for the pancakes, and then keep coming back until you have tried every menu item.

Blacketyside Farm Shop, Leven

This small café and farm shop can be found on the edge of Leven and it is a treat to visit. Attached to Blacketyside Farm, the farm shop’s menu showcases the best of their homegrown produce.

We recommend ordering pancakes with large helpings of homemade jam. Or, if you are in the mood for savoury toppings, you can switch the jam for crispy local bacon.

Fisher & Donaldson Tearoom, Cupar

This fifth-generation family bakery has branches throughout Fife, with a lovely bakery and tearoom in Cupar where you can take a seat to savour their huge range of Scottish and continental treats. They even carry the royal seal of approval, having been awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment to the Queen in 2011.

To really treat yourself on Pancake Day, take yourself down to Cupar and get some delicious pancakes served with ice cream and lashings of maple syrup.
