You will have probably heard that the long-awaited V&A museum has finally opened. The dramatic ship-shaped building is an architect’s delight, and the perfect landmark for such a creative city.

Inside the V&A, you will find a number of fascinating exhibitions exploring Scottish design, as well as a changing installations and insightful artists’ talks. If you’re feeling peckish, there is a café serving delightful light bites, and of course, everyone’s favourite part of a museum – a cracking gift shop!

Olympia Swimming Pools

Great for families, The Olympia has a large leisure pool – including slides, a rapid river and bubble beds – meaning loads of fun for everyone. More serious swimmers can head for the 50m swimming pool, or the public lane 25m pool. Tom Daley wannabees can also try out the diving pool– just avoid belly flops!

Taypark House

For a touch of luxury, head to Taypark House – this shabby chic restaurant and hotel is an ideal place to unwind. Their menu is mouth-watering, and their interior décor is highly Instagram-able!

Sculpture Spotting

Home of the Beano, Oor Willie and Desperate Dan comics, Dundee has raised several sculptures in their honour – keep an eye out for bronze statues of some of your favourite comic book characters. You can even visit a real ‘Bash Street’ - named in honour of the Beano school pupils!

The Law

If you’re searching for beautiful vistas, then one of the best things to do in Dundee is to take a walk up Dundee Law, a high peak which offers truly beautiful views across the whole of Dundee. This is a great spot for a coffee break, or a quiet moment of reflection – it is up to you!

Music Scene

Dundee has a well-established music scene, and it’s a great place to catch live performances. Head to the Reading Rooms or Clarks to hear some exceptional talent. Years from now, you will be able to say, “I saw them before they were famous!”
