Primrose Street, Alloa

A collaborative project, Campion Homes were the principal contractor in the transformation of a derelict town centre site with the creation of 60 brand new dementia friendly designed homes.

Primrose Street, within the town centre of Alloa, is part of an extensive regeneration initiative and provides a housing solution to the local ageing community offering quality assisted living opportunities.

These new energy efficient homes bring high quality town centre living for people of all ages, making local services and amenities easily accessible. They provide residents with energy efficient homes which will meet Housing for Varying Needs, achieve Secured by Design Gold and the Association’s design standards.

During the planning process, experts were approached for advice on dementia-friendly features that could be included in the design to suit the needs of some of the elderly residents. The energy efficient apartments provide quality assisted living opportunities through the incorporation of these dementia-friendly features, as well as mobility scooter charging points. It also provides residents with a private car park, convenient access to public transport, services and improved models of care.

The properties are future proofed to enable future adaptations, technology and elements of dementia design.
