It’s that time of the year again – we are saying goodbye to the old and bringing in the new. New Year is a great time to reflect on what is really important, and what changes we could make to bring more joy into our lives, and to the people around us.

Here are some tips on how to make the most of 2019, with these New Year’s resolutions…

Health

Keeping healthy is at the top of many people’s list of New Year’s resolutions – and with good reason. To keep healthy, give the great outdoors a go. Whether you choose to get out in the local nature, breath in the sea air or even going for longer walks with the dog, getting outdoors is always a great idea.

In Fife, why not try the gorgeous Fife coastal path, visit the best beaches in Scotland, or find out the best places to go for a dog walk in Fife.

Alternatively, if walking is not your style, try to find a sport that floats your boat - in Fife, you could try golfing, kayaking, dancing, or even rock climbing!

Family

Spending more time with family is another huge priority for many of us. Making time to spend special moments together can sometimes be a challenge, especially with a busy schedule, but those precious memories are worth it.

Studies show that regularly eating together as a family has a significant impact on wellbeing. Why not create a comfortable and appealing space for everyone to eat together? If you haven’t already, introduce a family meal time, and make sure everyone sticks to it!

Another idea is to designate a day every week or month for a special family outing. Whether it is going to the local leisure centre, the cinema, or even simply going to the park as a family, putting the time in regularly will help your bond grow even stronger.

Organisation

For many people, this time of year means getting organised. Whether it is organising your finances, decluttering the dreaded cupboard under the stairs, or resolving not to be five minutes late to work every day, this New Year’s resolution might not be the most exciting, but it is definitely one that will make a big difference!

To help with this, why not invest in a large organisation board to keep track of everything you need to do? Pop it up on an easy-to-view wall in your home – that way, you will be able to see it every day. With the tasks that you need to complete visible, they will not be able to be swept under the rug!

New Home

Of course, at the top of many people’s Christmas wish list is finding the perfect home. But even if Santa has not put a new home underneath your Christmas tree this year, you can still make moving into your dream home your New Year’s resolution!

Don’t delay for another year – choose the best location, home type and price that works for you, and get yourself that dream home.
