How to celebrate Mother’s Day in Fife
Mother’s Day takes place on the 31st of March this year, and it is time to start planning how to celebrate this wonderful day. Mums are so special, so if you can, show your appreciation for yours by spending a little time together.
If you are living in Fife, or just fancy a weekend trip here, there are so many things that you and mum can do to celebrate in style. Whether you are food fans, nature lovers or comfort seekers, Fife offers a little something for everyone.
We have rounded up some of our favourite suggestions for how to celebrate Mother’s Day in Fife…
Who doesn’t love an afternoon tea? We think spending some quality time over some dainty sandwiches, delicious scones and perhaps a glass of fizz sounds like the idyllic way to spend an afternoon.
There are lots of lovely options to choose from in Fife. Our favourites include Keavil House, located in Dunfermline. Its newly renovated Botanist restaurant is a stylish spot to spend time with mum, with views of the beautiful surrounding grounds. Keavil is currently offering Mother’s Day afternoon tea for two at just £19.95 per person – including a glass of Prosecco.
For an even more indulgent option, try the Fairmont at St Andrews, which offers a traditional Savoy Afternoon Tea complete with seasonal cakes and pastries. Afternoon tea is served from 1pm – 4pm, and costs £25 per person, or £36 with champagne – we know which option we would choose!
Looking for a more substantial bite to eat? Fear not, for Fife is a foodie’s paradise! This Mother’s Day, why not try out a special Fife eatery? We love St Monan restaurant, Craig Millar at 16 West End for its elegant menu – their lunch menu offers four courses for £34, and for that you get to sample some delectable dishes – a real treat!
If your mum prefers to keep it simple, then you could take her to the nationally-renowned Anstruther fish bar - using fresh local ingredients, they make incredible quality fish and chips, living up to their claim that they are probably home of the best fish and chips in Britain.
Is your mum always trying to get everyone out walking? Now is your chance to indulge her! Fife has some truly beautiful walking routes, where you can spend time wandering and chatting in the kingdom’s glorious nature.
Try out the Fife coastal path, or pay a visit to the pretty Lomond hills, where an abundance of Scottish flora and fauna awaits you.
Of course, the best thing to do on Mother’s Day is to spend quality time together – and you do not need to go anywhere to do that. Spend the day cooking together, playing board games, or whatever it is that takes your fancy.
